World of Warcraft: Artifact Knowledge Changes

Artifact power is what makes your weapon stronger. You need your artifact to offer a several million percent increase in order to get close to your next trait.

Currently, you research Artifact Knowledge at a very slow place. The test realm has all of your research projects and an increase in your artifact knowledge. It’s no secret that Artifact Knowledge has received many changes throughout Legion, and more than likely this will not be the last change. You will no longer need to head back to your Order Hall to research, and your Artifact Knowledge cap has been raised back to level 50.

All characters at max level (Level 110) will start with 41 AK (Artifact Knowledge) when 7.3 goes live. The multipliers are the same as when AK was dropped down to 40 in Patch 7.2. It appears that they will be removing the grind on AK, so you won’t have to grind for it anymore—you’ll just get a new AK level each week from 40-50.

Artifact Knowledge Level Multiplier
41 5,200,000%
42 6,760,000%
43 8,790,000%
44 11,430,000%
45 14,860,000%
46 19,320,000%
47 25,120,000%
48 32,660,000%
49 42,460,000%
50 55,200,000%

The Artifact Knowledge catch-up books have been changed to gray items. We do not know if toons being leveled up in the future will get the AK knowledge upon reaching level 110. It doesn’t look like we will need to spend Order Hall Resources in order to do our research this time around. Just in case you missed some of the upcoming 7.3 changes, here are just a few:

  • Argus, the planet, and everything on it
    • Three Timeless Isle-like zones
    • A new raid: Antorus, the Burning Throne
    • A new dungeon: Seat of the Triumvirate
  • New spell animations for all casters
  • A huge update to every profession
  • Artifact upgrades that change Relic customization via the Netherlight Crucible
