Obi-Wan Series Information: Cast and Production

We finally have some credible information in regards to what every die-hard Star Wars fan has been waiting for, and that is the cast lineup and production start date for the future TV series Obi-Wan Kenobi. This series will be exclusive to Disney+, where all other Star Wars films and TV shows are available, as well as upcoming. The production date for the series will be sometime in April as opposed to what other rumors have speculated, so hopefully, fans will have even more content soon since Mandalorian left everyone off with gaping holes in their hearts.

Star Wars is a popular franchise created by George Lucas and is one of the most iconic creations brought to life in 1977. The movies and tv series take place in a time and galaxy where humanoids coexist with aliens and droids. This is a time where technology is advanced, and interstellar travel has become a normal day-to-day routine. The galaxy is connected by all living things through the Force. The Jedi, also known as peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic, are beings that are connected to the force and wield this power to keep balance in the universe. They are opposed by another Force-wielding group known as the Sith, who are limited to two: the Sith Lord and apprentice. The franchise has grown considerably since the original trilogy, and lead to not only more movies but video games, tabletop games, books, and hit tv shows.

The series will follow the life of the legendary Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, otherwise known as Ben Kenobi on Tatooine, 10 years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and 9 years before Star Wars: A New Hope. All we know currently in regards to the plot is that after the events of the great battle between Obi-Wan and his former apprentice Anakin Skywalker, he fled to Tatooine in hiding so that he could take watch over Anakin’s son Luke at a distance. We do know that Anakin Skywalker, otherwise known in this current period as Darth Vader will be in the show. As to the role he will play we are not sure at this point. Hopefully, we can get a return appearance from Master Qui-Gon Jinn, former master of Obi-Wan, and learn the mysterious secret of converting one’s spirit into the force. If you have not watched any prior movies, now is the time to do it otherwise you will find yourself quite confused in regards to the events to come.

Ewan McGregor will be returning to continue his role as Obi-Wan in the Galactic Empire Era ten years after Anakin’s downfall. We also will get to see Hayden Christensen again but as none other than Darth Vader, making that the return of two of our beloved actors from episodes 1 through 3. Obi-Wan Kenobi also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The production will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold. The Casting Director will be Carmen Cuba. Deborah Chow directed two critically acclaimed episodes of Mandalorian in season 1, which is very exciting news.

I hope we can get more information soon as far as the plot goes, but with this lineup, the future series should be a major hit. Even though the latest trilogy was unsuccessful, Mandalorian and the latest season of Star Wars: Clone Wars were both extremely popular. This shows that Star Wars still has endless promising content for fans, and the franchise is far from over.

Star Wars: Republic Commando returning this April

The team at Aspyr Media is having a field day with re-releasing Star Wars games at the moment, including hits like Jedi Academy and Episode I Racer. But now things are getting serious, as it’s set to squad up this April with the return of Republic Commando.

The first-person shooter/strategy game first debuted on the Xbox platform years ago, then recently resurfaced when it becomes available as an enhanced title for the Xbox One and, later on, Xbox Series X. But now Aspyr wants to introduce the legend of the Delta Squad to more players, as the game will be available on April 6th for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. In addition, it will also be reasonably priced, going for just $14.99.

The game won’t have multiplayer like the original version. However, improvements will be made to the game’s controls to make them a little more current, so they work wonders with the DualShock 4, DualSense and Switch controllers. So you’ll have that going for you. Plus it’s bound to look great!

The trailer is below, so give it a look and prepare for the return of the Commando! Now, if we can just get some TIE Fighter titles going…

Isolated in the House? Here’s Why You Should Give Arcade1up a Try

Social distancing has its benefits, such as Arcade1up.

Being stuck in the house sucks. It does. We know how it is. That said, it’s ideal for gamers because they can go and enjoy video games whenever they please without having to socialize with anyone – well, save for those in chat, of course.

But let’s say you miss the feeling of the arcade. A lot of them are closed these days due to the Coronavirus, and there are those that are hunkering to feel the glory of coin-op machines. But how can they in a time of crisis? Well, the team at Tastemakers might just have a solution.

It’s called Arcade1up, and it’s a line-up of build-them-yourself arcade games that feel and look just like the real deal. In fact, many of the models come with multiple games built into the system, so you can enjoy a number of classics on a dedicated cabinet.

Why yes, we do like the Star Wars cabinet.

Arcade1up brings the classics directly to you.

The company began producing these games a while back, starting with collections featuring Atari and Namco favorites, like Galaga/Galaxian and Pac-Man/Pac-Man Plus. They’ve become hit sellers, but then the company went the extra mile with even more popular machines, including a three-pack of Star Wars arcade games and a two-pack of Konami’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games. It’ll continue its run this summer with a number of new machines, including a dedicated NBA Jam cabinet with online play, as well as other favorites like a Golden Axe/Sega package (with five games!) and a Frogger/Time Pilot combo machine, as well as virtual pinball in conjunction with Zen Studios.

So why would Arcade1up be just the thing for you, especially now? Let’s look at some of the positives.

They’re easy to build. With the Arcade1up, all you essentially need to put together a cabinet is a Phillips head screwdriver. That’s it. All the other parts – screws, joints, panels – come with the game. You assemble it within a matter of hours, although it wouldn’t hurt to have someone else helping you out. Heck, make it a group project while you’re all quarantined together. There are some smaller screws that can be a bit of a challenge, but you’ll find it’s all worthwhile when the machine comes together and sits comfortably in your home.

There are Arcade1up machines for every taste. No matter what kind of games you’re into, Arcade1up has a good variety to choose from. It recently introduced a limited edition BurgerTime cabinet featuring a number of Data East classics, like Bad Dudes and Caveman Ninja (Joe and Mac). Again, later this summer, it’ll bring a three-pack of basketball classics with its NBA Jam cabinet, along with online play functionality. And it’ll also have some other favorites. For some strange reason, we’re hunkering for that Frogger/Time Pilot combo, just because we can.

And let’s not forget the Mortal Kombat three-pack, which has been one of its best-selling cabinets to date. It just goes to show that it has some variety to spare, with even more games to come. You’re going to need a bigger game room.

Stuck in a house with family? You can always rely on Turtles and Marvel heroes.

They’re easier to maintain than actual arcade games. One big advantage to the Arcade1up is that they’re easier to take care of than actual arcade machines since you don’t have to deal with all the architecture and wiring of an actual machine. Sure, they may not be exactly the same as a real coin-op, but they’re much more affordable and, again, easier to work with. And if anything does go wrong – like with one of the buttons or something – their customer service can make it right rather quickly.

Your wallet will thank you. Finally, let’s be honest. Purchasing arcade games for the home can be expensive. Try to find a dedicated Star Wars arcade cabinet these days that won’t push over a thousand dollars. Go ahead, we’ll wait. (And if you do, make sure you check the condition, yeah?)

Build a game room or spruce up your home with Arcade1up.

But with Arcade1up, you get something that feels like the actual arcade game and offers a number of choices for a convenient price. And what’s more, they’re a little smaller in size, which means you can fit more of them into your home. Imagine being able to build the arcade of your dreams, but without having to compromise space. That’s what we’re talking about.

You’ll be able to feel the boomshakalaka this summer.

Again, you can learn more about Arcade1up on its official page. It never hurts to take a look and see what they’ve got to offer – and more importantly, what’s on the horizon. We did mention NBA Jam, yes?
