In PLAYER UNKNOWN BATTLEGROUNDS sight is one of the most crucial elements in the game. With the most recent update, there will be a new feature: Field Of View Slider for first person.

PLAYER UNKNOWN BATTLEGROUNDS has been constantly updating and getting the game ready to fully release. The most recent update the game has received is a Field of View slider that will only affect the first person view in the game. Developer Snookie stated on Twitch chat.

“The slider is implemented and we are testing the values right now, it will be available with the July Update.”

It’s important to note that the FOV slider will only affect the first person view, and will not have an effect on the third person camera view. Normally, in PUBG players will be in third person view mostly throughout the match. This view allows players to peak around corners safely without exposing their position to nearby enemies.

There are a few instances where players will set their camera to first-person. When in enclosed areas, your player will cover a lot of your screen in certain positions, switching to first person allows players to see as much as possible without interference. Although, some will disagree with first person. It’s a matter of preference.

Brendan “PLAYERUNKNOWN” Greene talked about the idea of a first person mode only for the game on the Battlegrounds Discord. But, Brendan and Bluehole are more focused on making the game as optimized as possible.

“Dedicated first-person servers will take some time as it requires a lot of work from all teams, it’s not as easy as just flipping a switch. Out game, platform, engineering, and gameplay teams all need to do work to make it happen, and they are all quite busy with optimization work at the moment!”
