The Playcrafting team has been busy working on big things for the past few months and are ready to announce New York’s first dedicated games convention for creators and players, coming in August.
PLAY NYC is New York’s first dedicated games convention for both creators and players alike. On August 19th and 20th, PLAY NYC is bringing two exciting days and nights of games, talks, and events to New York’s memorial concert venue, Terminal 5.
This event plans to bring developers, players, and industry pros together at a games event like no other. Organizer Dan Butchko says at this time that the event will be spread out over 21,000 square feet of three floors of Terminal 5, plus its roof. General admission will be 20$ a day for early pre-sales, for Devs and Pros tickets, which include access to two days of panels, will start at $50 for both days for early pre-sales.
Featuring releases from developers big and small, Butchko tells Polygon the plan is to have a host of New York-based indies as well as “five big games and five big names.” Play NYC hopes to celebrate every component of gaming in a way only the Big Apple can. Expecting over 5,000 attendees across the immense venue, this seems this event will be a hit for creators and gamers alike.
