Landmark will be closing its servers on February 21st, 2017.
Daybreak announced on the 5th of January 2017 that they will be shutting down the Landmark servers on February 21st, 2017. All marketplace items will be cut down to 1DBC. After February 21st, 2017, the website for Landmark and forums will be shut down as well. Any Daybreak cash players currently have will not be refunded, but can be used for other Daybreak video games.
Landmark was meant to be an MMO sandbox game that allowed players shape the world they lived in. The game had potential when the idea came to light in 2014, and Landmark was officially released for early access in 2016. However, after minimal developments from Daybreak, the game went silent and finally announced its closing. Players who bought the game are $100 shorter. Landmark was only up to play for early access for 7 months prior to the shutdown. The Steam store page was removed in early January 2017, giving players a foreshadowing of its untimely demise. However, the DLC packs are still found on Steam. The game itself had mostly negative reviews.
Undoubtedly, someone will have the question whether or not they can emulate Landmark. However, in the new updated FAQ, Daybreak has already answered the burning question, writing that"Daybreak Game Company will retain all of the code and data from Landmark. Daybreak Game Company will not license or authorize the operation of a Landmark emulator or a fan-operated Landmark server."
The full statement from Daybreak as follows:

With heavy hearts, we are writing today to inform you that after much review, we have decided to close Landmark game servers on February 21, 2017.
Since Landmark first entered Alpha, we have been impressed by the creative talents in this community. You pushed the boundaries of what Landmark could do, and we are grateful for the time and energy you shared through your creations in this game.
While there is still time to enjoy Lumeria and the many worlds you’ve built within Landmark, we wanted to let you know what you will be seeing happen between now and February. Beginning today, Player Studio items will no longer be available for listing or for purchase in the Landmark Marketplace. Landmark will also no longer be available for purchase. All items in the Marketplace with a Daybreak Cash price will have their price reduced to 1 DBC.
The game servers, as well as the accompanying forums and social media channels, will be closed at 4:00 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
We want to thank each and every one of you for your creative contributions to Landmark.
