No flying on Argus, period.
During the weekly World of Warcraft Q&A, Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas and Josh “Devolore” Allen fielded questions from the World of Warcraft fanbase. Some interesting tidbits came up as a result. Aside from the Mythic+15 and Mage Tower challenge modes, all other artifact appearances would be available as transmogs. Druid forms would also be available.
Legendary drops were also discussed. While it is already known that legendaries will increase to 1000 item level, any legendaries obtained after the release of Antorus, The Burning Throne will drop at item level 1000; for those rocking 970 level legendaries, one will have to do a repeatable quest to upgrade any existing legendaries. Watcher and Devolore also indicated that it would be possible that legendary tokens would be bind on account so that people can hand their alts legendaries, but this is only if one of your characters has all of the legendaries for that class. It was unclear when these tokens would be released. In addition, other than the ring, there would be no new legendaries in 7.3.2.
There were no plans to rebalance classes until after the release of the new raid. Another interesting highlight from the Q&A is that Mythic+ would be a key focus for the developers due to the success of the Mythic Dungeon Invitational. It is possible that they could do a season with Mythic+, just like there are seasons with PvP. The developers also addressed the viability of certain classes and specs in Mythic+.
A very important highlight for those currently questing in Argus is that those who have the Argus flight master whistle will find that it will be account bound in a day or two. After a hotfix is implemented, it will be a lot easier to get around in the Argus zones of Antoran Wastes, Mac’Aree and Krokuun. World quests will also be account-wide, although there are no plans to do it for Mac’Aree or Krokuun due to quest phasing. The age-old question about flying in Argus was also brought up; Watcher and Devolore stated that there will never be flying in Argus.
The Artifact Knowledge levels will continue to increase until Artifact Knowledge level 55. Currently, it is at 46, and this will ensure that alts can quickly gear up or someone switching mains can quickly gear up.
Watcher and Devolore addressed the prevalence of RNG; they admitted that they wanted a sense of achievement to different kinds of players by offering options other than raiding for legendary items.
PvP seasons are not necessarily linked to the release of a new patch, but will probably be linked to the release of new raids instead.
What data do the developers use? Watcher and Devolore have admitted to using third-party fan sites such as WarcraftLogs and SimulationCraft in addition to their internal data. In this discussion, they have even stated that damage or healing is not necessarily everything.
Some abilities may be brought back in the future, much like Shroud of Concealment was brought back for rogues for 7.1. Watch the whole thing below:
