The Details

The Good

The 65 pound box arrived well packaged and organized. From the weight of the box you get the feeling that what's inside is quite solid and substantial. When I opened the box, I found that all the parts were packaged well and effectively compartmentalized. I sorted the box, let the contents out, and followed the included instructions to assemble the chair using the provided tool. Around twenty minutes later the chair was put together. The directions were clean, easy to understand, and well thought out.

My first appreciation of the chair while building it was the solid aluminum base. These tend to be the death knell for me on lower quality chairs, as I found the base would split on lower quality plastic bases while leaning. I spent the next couple of weeks making minor adjustments and breaking in the chair. I didn't feel writing about the chair in the first couple weeks would give me the time to adjust from my old chair to this new one. Now, several weeks later, I have configured the chair to where I am completely comfortable.

I tried it with and without the neck pillow. I actually love it. The details, quality of work, adjustable capabilities of this chair show that DXRacer listens to gamers and know how to optimize the experience while understanding that all gamers are of different shapes and sizes. The adjustable reclining function of the back of the chair was one of my favorite feature of the chair, but I appreciated the build quality of the PVC/PU chair material and that very solid aluminum base by far.

The Bad

My only real complaint about the chair is my hips sit on the left and right edges of the seat and minor readjustments are sometimes needed. However, this was my fault as I should have requested a Sentinel Series Chair. That would be more accommodating to my football player wide-hip and broad-shouldered frame. While the price of the chair could be viewed by some to be a negative point I would argue that this type of chair is more investment then purchase. You may spend money now, but it will last you a long time if properly cared for thanks to its solid build quality.

The DXRacer Kind Series Chair is, in a word, quality. You feel the build quality, you see it, and you experience it when using the chair. It's comfortable for long gaming sessions, highly configurable for different types of bodies, and more adaptable then other rival chairs. The MSRP of the DXRacer King Series is $469.00 on the DXRacer.com website. My best advice is to know your dimensions and weight when ordering, because each series of chair is best designed for different frames and weights. Colors will vary based on the model you select, and I think a DVS Green Sentinel may be my next chair. I feel the hips would work better in the chair and, of course, I want to represent my company and community.

I would like to thank DXRacer for providing the DXRacer King Series OH/KS06/N chair for me to review.
