After being officially confirmed at Blizzcon a few months ago, it appears that Diablo II: Resurrected is set to raise hell on the main stage.
Today, during the Xbox E3 showcase, Activision Blizzard confirmed that Diablo II: Resurrected will come to PC and Xbox consoles starting on September 23rd.
A new trailer, featured below, offers some fresh new gameplay, put together by the team at Vicarious Visions, who previously worked on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. So it’s obvious they have some experience when it comes to offering a fresh coat of paint to a classic game experience.
Here’s the game’s official description: “Pursue the mysterious Dark Wanderer and fight the denizens of hell as you uncover the fate of the Prime Evils Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, now in all-new 3D graphics. Experience the genre-defining Diablo gameplay featuring robust RPG character progression, incredibly deep itemization, and visceral hack-and-slash combat.”
There’s no word yet if the game will also come to other platforms (like PlayStation and Nintendo Switch) on the 23rd, but it seems likely. For now, you can enjoy the trailer below and pre-order the game for Xbox platforms here. There also appears to be a beta on the way, so keep your eyes peeled for more details. In the meantime, prepare…to go to Hell!
