Riders Republic first look: talk about going Steep

After being announced last year, the extreme sports oriented Riders Republic has gotten some good attention from us, if only because of the various activities it has to offer. However if you’ve not yet caught it in action, a new deep dive trailer for the game just premiered on Ubisoft Forward – and gives us a lot to look forward to.

In the game, you get to choose from over “50+ player events” via Community that “randomly pop up on the map.” And like the previously released Steep before it, it has all sorts of activities that you can take part in. There’s riding the slopes with a snowboard; there’s hitting the dirt trail with a bike; and you can even do some flying in a wingsuit if you feel compelled. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, as the game will give you lots to do, as well as customization options galore and a ton of ways to progress your rider.

Oh, and there will be multiplayer as well, as you can Mass Start races with a bunch of other competitors in the best way possible. Compete for the top spot and win your way to even more events as you go along! Not to mention trick challenges that await you and your buddies, along with online cup tournaments, arenas and races, and a whole lot more.

The trailer below gives you an idea of what to expect. Thus far, the visuals look spectacular for this game, and remind us of long-lost extreme sports stuff like SSX and Downhill Domination (remember those?). Also the music sounds like it’ll have a nice vibe to it as well.

Before you ask, yes, the game will have cross-play and cross-progression as well. No word if that’s starting from day one, but it seems likely.

Check out the trailer below and prepare for take a ride with the Republic starting on September 2nd!
